The University of Alabama is still waiting on the NCAA’s report regarding the Bo Davis violations.

Former Alabama football assistant coach Bo Davis resigned last month after reports of impermissible contact with a prospect. Now, with the NCAA investigating the rules violations, athletic director Bill Battle is playing the waiting game.

Battle spoke with the media on Wednesday regarding the status of the NCAA’s report.

“I don’t know what … we haven’t got the final report from the NCAA,” Battle said. “I know that Bo spoke to the NCAA after we did and he resigned. We have determined there were violations and felt like it was in our best interest to separate.

Davis has discussed the potential for possible reduction in punishment with the NCAA.

“I know that Bo spoke to the NCAA in hopes that he could reduce any penalty that might come to him,” Battle said. “We haven’t heard what might come to us. We’re still waiting for those answers.”

Battle said the athletic department was fast to get on top of the allegations.

“We responded as quickly as (we could). It will be up to the NCAA to decide what they think about our response.”
