Former 5-star cornerback Kendall Sheffield is transferring to Blinn College from Alabama.
Two days after news broke that he’d be transferring from Alabama, we finally know where redshirt freshman Kendall Sheffield will be heading.
The former 5-star prospect has signed with Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.
The two-year academic institution is a well-known JUCO transfer option for football players, one that was popularized when Cam Newton played for the Blinn Buccaneers between his stints with the Florida Gators and Auburn Tigers.
Sheffield will be required to attend Blinn for two semesters before being able to return to the FBS level. He’ll then have three years of eligibility remaining.
Before he signed with Alabama, Sheffield was the No. 1-ranked cornerback and No. 9 overall player in the 2015 recruiting cycle. He was one of 23 signees for the Crimson Tide’s class, which ranked No. 2 in the country behind the USC Trojans.
Sheffield spent three of his five official visits at Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and USC. He also held offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Notre Dame, among many others.
