Leonard Fournette sent Nebraska commit Avery Roberts a message following the latter’s tweet that he’d lay the Heisman frontrunner to rest.
Nebraska commit Avery Roberts unintentionally ruffled feathers on Twitter recently when he made a confident statement about what would happen if he met star LSU running back Leonard Fournette on the field.
Roberts quote tweeted the following tweet, stating “Same thing I would do to anyone else … Tell him good night and put him to sleep!”

A confident take from a young man with a promising college football future – Roberts is a 4-star recruit, ranked as the nation’s No. 5 inside linebacker – was flipped into him talking smack by many. Manufactured beef was served up to fans.
But not Fournette. The projected Heisman frontrunner heading into 2016 saw a young man chasing his dreams, and took the opportunity to reach out to Roberts.
Roberts tweeted a screen capture of the exchange between the two players (Fournette’s message is on the left in grey).
