Oklahoma football recruiting update for the week of March 18, 2016.

It was a solid week for Oklahoma on the recruiting trail.

The Sooners picked up two commitments: 4-star cornerback Tre Brown and 3-star athlete Marcelias Sutton.

In the case of Brown, he’s a bit undersized at 5-foot-10, 165 lbs, but he plays bigger than he is. Brown attacks underneath throws and makes plays in the flats. He just needs to work on form tackling instead of throwing himself at ball carriers and recievers.

Both the press coverage and zone coverage skills need work, but he makes plays on the ball and can be a factor in the return game, too.

Sutton, from Lackawanna Community College, has average size for a running back (5-foot-10, 195 lbs), but he does have some above-average skills.

In the return game, Sutton can be a real factor. He works inside-out, getting out from behind the wall and to the sideline in a hurry. He’s a receiving threat out of the backfield, too, showing a solid feel for the wheel route.

He’s not super quick or explosive, but Sutton can find the edge and turn up field.

Both are quality additions to the Sooners’ class.

Below is a breakdown of Oklahoma’s 2017 recruiting class as it currently stands.
