BU Defeated by Army West Point, 80-71

BOSTON – Sophomore Nick Havener had a career-high 15 rebounds and junior Eric Fanning scored 20 points, but the Boston University men’s basketball team fell to Army West Point, 80-71, on Tuesday night at Case Gym.

In a contest that featured six lead changes, BU (17-13, 10-7 PL) went on a 14-4 run in the second half and held a 61-60 lead with 7:55 to play. Army (18-11, 9-8 PL) outscored the Terriers, 20-10, over the remainder of the contest, however, to pull away with the victory.

Fanning led all scorers with his 20 points and also added six boards. Sophomore Eric Johnson poured in a career-high 12 points thanks to a 4-of-4 performance from three-point range. Classmate Cheddi Mosely recorded 18 points and has reached double figures in 11 of his last 12 games. Mosely was part of a Terrier bench that outscored the Black Knight reserves, 38-21.
