Christina Harris Garners Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honor

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Following a first-place finish in the discus throw at the Fred Hardy Invite, Army thrower Christina Harris has been named the Patriot League Female Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Harris put up an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifying mark of 42.77m in the discus en route to her first-place nod.

In addition, the Kaufman, Texas native took seventh in the shot put, earning a throw of 12.07m.

She ranks second in the conference in the discus, trailing only teammate Cody Rothschild

Harris opened the season with a second-place finish in the discus at the Anteater-Four Way. She also claimed fifth in the shot put in the team’s outdoor season opener. The following week, she earned marks of 12.46m in the shot put and 42.72m in the discus to take fifth and seventh, respectively at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invite.

Harris and the Black Knights will take their talents to Annapolis, Md., this weekend as they take on the Midshipmen for the annual Star meet. Action with Navy is slated to get underway on April 4 at 3 p.m.
