Coastal Carolina tops Trinity Baptist 79-36

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Josh Cameron scored 16 points and Uros Ljeskovic grabbed 12 rebounds Friday and Coastal Carolina dominated Division II Trinity Baptist 79-36.

Shivaughn Wiggins scored 12 points for the Chanticleers, Warren Gillis added 10, including two 3-pointers, and Marcus Freeman scored 10 and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Chanticleers outshot the Eagles 50 percent to 26 percent from the field, out-rebounded them 53-20, and were 7-for-18 from beyond the arc to Trinity Baptist’s 6-for-23.

The Eagles were led by Charles Cooks with 11 points and LaMel Hamberg added 10, including three 3-pointers.

Coastal Carolina opened with a 7-2 run capped by a 3-pointer by Gillis, led 17-5 after a free throw by Ljeskovic, and scored 10 unanswered points to lead 38-14 at halftime.

After a slow start in the second half, Freeman hit a layup at 8:31, sparking a 28-2 run to end the game.
