Cohen Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette freshman shortstop Steven Cohen was named the Patriot League Corvias Rookie of the Week on Monday after hitting .400 over the Leopards’ four games this past weekend.

In his collegiate debut against UMBC on Friday, he stole a base and drew two walks. During Saturday’s win over UMBC, he belted a three-run home run in the second inning to put the Leopards up for good. He then tallied three hits, including two doubles, in Lafayette’s two games with Richmond.

In other news, Lafayette’s previously cancelled game against Rider, which was scheduled for Tuesday in Flemington, N.J., will now be made up this Sunday at Delaware’s field.

This weekend’s schedule is as follows:

Sat., March 7: Doubleheader vs. Delaware beginning at noon
Sun., March 8: Single game vs. Delaware at 10 a.m.
Sun., March 8: Single game vs. Rider (at Delaware): 1 p.m.
