Fairfield Too Much For Women’s Basketball In Home Opener

BALTIMORE – The Loyola University Maryland women’s basketball team dropped a 71-45 contest to Fairfield University in the Greyhounds’ home opener at Reitz Arena Wednesday night.

Diana Logan led Loyola (1-2) with 11 points. Colleen Marshall added nine points and a career-best six assists, while Bri Betz-White finished the game with eight points and a personal-best seven rebounds. Steph Smith led the defense with a career-high eight rebounds.

Four Stags recorded double figures in scoring for Fairfield (2-0), including Kelsey Carey, who finished with a game-high 20 points. Samantha Cooper and Kristin Schatzlein both contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday when they host Norfolk State at 4 p.m.
