EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette field hockey junior Amanda Magadan took part in USA Field Hockey’s Young Women’s National Championship this week in Lancaster, Pa.

The Randolph, N.J. native has already been named to the USA U21 National Team. Magadan has helped lead her team to the championship game this afternoon.

“Being able to play in the Young Women’s National Championship is a great opportunity to compete with other top athletes in the country,” Magadan said. “This tournament certainly challenges my technical, tactical and leadership abilities and constantly helps me improve these skills to the next level. I’ve always been up for a challenge so going against the best from other top programs motivates me to be better. This tournament has been a lot of fun this year and I look forward to competing for the Championship in today’s game.”

“Amanda is one of the top players in the country,” head coach Jennifer Stone said. “Playing in the Young Women’s National Championship is always a fun tournament to be a part of, with a high level of domestic competition. I know that Amanda is enjoying her experience, and will no doubt continue to improve her game from playing with other top players in the country.”
