Gallagher and O’Sullivan Garner Patriot League Weekly Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Navy women’s lacrosse senior attack Katie Gallagher (Bel Air, Md.) and freshman midfielder Andie O’Sullivan (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) were named Corvias Patriot League Attacker and Rookie of the Week, which was announced by the league office on Monday.

Gallagher and O’Sullivan both tallied multi-point performances last week as Navy went 1-1, losing to #13 Virginia, 13-9, and defeating Colgate, 15-10.

Gallagher, who tallied her second career attacker of the week honors, recorded nine points on five goals and four assists. The senior attacker opened the week with four points on two goals and two assists against Virginia. Gallagher then came back with a five-point (3g, 2a) performance in Navy’s 15-10 win over Colgate. The Bel Air, Marlyand, native came up big in the second half against the Raiders with two goals and an assist in a 5-1 run as the Mids built a 14-9 lead.

Gallagher extended her consecutive multi-point performances to four games. She has recorded multiple points in 10 of 13 games this season.

O’Sullivan earned her first career rookie of the week laurel with five points on four goals and one assist last week. The Valley Cottage, New York, native tallied her first career multi-goal performance against Virginia on Wednesday. O’Sullivan then recorded her second multi-point performance with three points on two goals and one assist versus Colgate.

O’Sullivan has tallied at least one goal in the last three games since being put into the starting lineup.

Navy welcomes Boston University, who is 4-2 in league play, on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
