Golf. Four Patriot Leaguers Named to Men’s Golf PING All-Region Teams

PING All-Region Teams

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Four Patriot League men’s golfers were selected to the PING All-Region Teams, with three student-athletes from Army West Point and one from Loyola University Maryland honored.

The Army West Point trio of Peter Kim, Dean Sakata and Marcus Plunkett all made the list along with Loyola’s Ethan Wall. The Patriot League honrees were among 25 selections in the Northeast Region and 156 overall across six regions. The All-Region Teams were selected an announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Kim, Sakata and Plunkett were all key cogs on the Army West Point squad which won the title at the Patriot League Championship. Kim would go on to tie for seventh place at the NCAA Regional, and narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship when he fell in a playoff for the last spot. Sakata won the individual title at the Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship with a record score, while Kim was fourth and Plunkett tied for fifth in the event.

Wall logged three top-10 finishes throughout the year and finished in ninth place at the League Championship.
