Konchar leads IPFW to 80-77 win over Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) John Konchar had 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead IPFW to an 80-77 victory over Austin Peay on Wednesday night.

The Governors’ Khalil Davis was fouled on a 3-point try with nine seconds left. He made the first free throw but missed the second. He intentionally missed on the final free throw but the Mastodons’ Brent Calhoun got the rebound, was fouled and sank a free throw. A 3-point attempt by Austin Peay’s John Murry missed.

IPFW went on a 9-0 run to tie at 59 the game with 9:44 left. The Governors led once after that and kept the Mastadons within four points.

Mo Evans added 20 points plus seven assists and Joe Reed scored 11 for IPFW (2-1). Konchar, a freshman, turned in career highs in points and rebounds.

Josh Robinson led the Governors (0-3) with 25 points while Davis added 23 and Chris Horton 16.
