Lafayette Opens League Play Hosting Navy

TODAY’S GAME: The Leopards open up Patriot League play on Saturday afternoon, hosting Navy at Fisher Field. Lafayette enters the contest 1-5 overall, while the Mids are 6-1 so far this season.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore Charlotte Rath tallied two goals and led the team with two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 10-7 loss to Binghamton on Wednesday. Freshman Anna Raymond made two saves on 21 shots faced in defeat.

AT THE HELM: Lafayette alum Alison Fisher leads the Leopards in her seventh season, holding an overall career mark of 33-73. Cindy Timchal leads the Mids in her eighth season in charge, sitting at 451-114 for her career and 105-28 in Annapolis.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Lafayette is still seeking its first-ever program win over Navy, winless in eight tries since 2008. The Leopards fell, 11-5, in Annapolis a year ago.

UP FRONT: Sophomore Kirsten Wilhelmsen has been the engine for the Lafayette offense this season, tallying 15 goals. Classmate Amanda Case is second on the team with seven goals, while fellow sophomore Charlotte Rath has also netted six tallies on the year.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Freshman Anna Raymond started the year solid, but has gone through some growing pains in the last few games. Raymond holds a 13.81 goals-against average and has made 42 saves in six games for a .344 save percentage.

PRESEASON POLL: Lafayette was picked to finish seventh out of nine Patriot League teams in the 2015 Patriot League Preseason Poll.
