Lampman’s Singles Run Ends at ITA Regionals

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Sophomore Sam Lampman, who was the last remaining Black Knight left in the singles main draw, fell just short of advancing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday.

Lampman dropped his morning match to Cornell’s Bernardo Casares Rosa, 4-6, 3-6. The only member of the Army men’s tennis team to earn a singles victory in the main draw, Lampman topped Alex Hagermoser of Yale, 6-4, 6-4, on Friday.

After earning two victories on Friday, Lampman and senior Alex Van Velzer will continue their doubles run on Sunday at 8 a.m.
