Opening Tip

– Lafayette and Bucknell split their season series with each team winning on its home floor. The winner of Sunday’s semifinal game will play either No. 2 Colgate or No. 6 American in the championship game on Wednesday. Lafayette has never won at Sojka Pavilion in the Patriot League Tournament.

– Senior Dan Trist is having the best year of his career this season. Trist led the Patriot League in scoring in the regular season at 17.7 points per game and was one of two unanimous All-Patriot League First-Team selections when the league’s major awards were announced Monday.

– Lafayette ranks in the top-20 nationally in all three offensive efficiency categories, including holding the fourth spot in the country in three-point field-goal percentage (40.9%). Additionally, the Leopards are 10th in free-throw percentage (75.9%) and 17th in overall field-goal percentage (48.3%).

– Sophomore Nick Lindner has stepped up his offensive game recently. Lindner put together a 23-point performance in the quarterfinal win on Thursday, dropping in a career-high five three-pointers. Since an illness kept him out of the Boston U. game on Feb. 9, he has averaged 17.4 points per game, a 7.2-point increase in scoring above his 10.2 average before that date.
