Maholage Named To Academic All-Patriot League Swimming & Diving Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland sophomore Dale Maholage has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Swimming and Diving Team, as announced by the league office Monday.

Maholage, an accounting major carrying a 3.978 grade point average, scored for the Greyhounds at the Patriot League Championships, finishing 15th in the 100 breast with a time of 57.12.

The native of Murrysville, Pennsylvania also helped a pair of relay teams to a sixth and seventh place finishes at the championships. He helped the 200 medley relay team to a seventh-place finish, teaming with junior Zeke Wolfgang, junior Rich Mueller and senior Ruslan Kopunek for a time of 1:32.47. He then helped the 400 medley relay team of Wolfgang, Mueller and junior Madison Hardimon to a sixth-place finish in 3:22.73.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
