Men’s Track Lands 12 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Army West Point men’s track & field team earned 12 spots on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the conference Friday morning. 

Seniors Andreas Kellas and Trevor Lafontaine led the way for the Black Knights with near perfect grade point averages. An Arabic major, Kellas posted the top mark for Army West Point, graduating in May with a grade point average of 3.975. Lafontaine followed close behind with a 3.858 as a civil engineering major. 

Four juniors earned the distinction, with Drew Beck, Mitch Dutton, Eric Fenton and Marcus Phillips making the cut. 

Beck, an american politics major, earned a grade point average of 3.253; Dutton, majoring in defense and strategic studies, posted a mark of 3.249; Fenton, a law and legal studies major, earned a grade point average of 3.478; and Phillips, a civil engineering major, earned a grade point average of 3.219. 

Sophomores Brown Bailey, Kenner Broullire and Jacob Fong also made the list. 

Bailey boasts a grade point average of 3.633 as a nuclear engineering major; Broullire earned a grade point average of 3.333 as a leader development science major; and Fong, majoring in international relations and Chinese, posted a mark of 3.650. 

Freshmen Nick Chatel, Ross Puritty and Johnny Valeri rounded out Army West Point’s honorees. 

All undeclared majors, Chatel earned a grade point average of 3.650, Puritty earned a mark of 3.711 and Valeri posted a grade point average of 3.316.
