Men’s, Women’s Swimming & Diving Named Scholar All-America Teams

NORFOLK, Va. – The Loyola University Maryland men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were named College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams, as announced by the CSCAA Wednesday.

The awards are in recognition of teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2015 Fall Semester. With 354 colleges and universities across all divisions honored, that is up 40 teams from the previous Fall Semester.

Loyola’s men’s squad combined for a GPA of 3.22 through the Fall Semester and were one of 84 men’s programs honored, including one of six from the Patriot League. With a cumulative GPA of 3.52, the Greyhounds’ women’s team was one of 149 women’s programs nationally and one of seven from the Patriot League to earn the accolade.

Of the 152 NCAA Division I schools to earn the accolade, Loyola was one of 81 to have both of its men’s and women’s teams honored.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a GPA of 3.00 or higher over the fall semester.

The Greyhounds will close out the home portion of its schedule on Friday when it hosts Goucher for Senior Day. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
