Navy-Howard Women’s Tennis Match Rescheduled for Thursday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy-Howard women’s tennis match originally scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Thursday at 2:30 PM. The match will be played at the Tose Family Tennis Center inside the Brigade Sports Complex.

The match was postponed due to a snowstorm earlier in the week.

Navy (5-3) is coming off a close 4-3 loss to George Washington on Saturday. The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for Navy. The Colonials won the doubles point and the top three singles flights.

Navy won the bottom three singles flights with junior Katie Porter, freshman Amanda Keller and sophomore Allie Pavlansky earning singles wins.

Pavlansky has won five straight singles matches and is 6-1 in duals this spring. Keller is 5-1 in dual play and 20-5 overall on the year. Keller’s 20 singles wins are tied for the 10th most in a single season in program history.

Howard enters Tuesday’s match at 1-3. The Bison defeated Norfolk State and have dropped matches to Delaware, George Mason and James Madison.

The all-time series between Navy and Howard is even at 2-2. Howard won in 2010 and 2014, while Navy won duals in 2011 and 2013.

Navy will host two dual matches on Saturday. The Mids well welcome Seton Hall at 9 AM and Longwood at 2 PM.
