Niagara closes out Brown, 75-66

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) Matt Scott scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help lead Niagara by Brown 75-66 on Wednesday night.

Justin Satchell added 17 points and eight boards for the Purple Eagles (1-2), who shot 47.2 percent from the field while holding Brown to just 30.7 percent shooting.

Niagara closed the first half on an 11-4 scoring stretch and led 38-30 at halftime.

Brown (1-2) battled back, however, scoring 7 straight points in the early moments of the second half, capped by a Jason Massey 3-point play, which cut the Purples Eagles lead to 40-37.

That was as close as the Bears got though, as a 10-2 Niagara run pushed the lead to double digits, and two free throws apiece by Cameron Fowler and Scott in the final minute put the game away.

Steven Spieth led Brown (1-2) with 15 points. Cedric Kuakumensah added 10 points with 11 rebounds.
