Patriot League Announces Women’s Track & Field Academic Honor Roll

2015 Patriot League Women’s Track and Field Academic Honor Roll Get Acrobat Reader

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Patriot League women’s track and field programs combined to place 290 student-athletes on the sport’s Academic Honor Roll announced on Friday, with Bucknell leading the way with 64 selections.

Seven additional schools had 20 or more representatives on the Academic Honor Roll. Holy Cross finished with 41 and was followed by Lehigh (33), Boston University (30), Navy (29), Loyola (27), Colgate (22) and Lafayette (22). The total of 290 student-athletes represents an increase of 30 honorees from last season.

Thirteen student-athletes who made either the Indoor or Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-Patriot League Team also qualified for the Academic Honor Roll, including Indoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year Shelby Stableford of Boston University and Outdoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year Sophia Nnadi of Bucknell.

There were 28 student-athletes with a grade-point average of 4.00 or better for the spring semester, with at least one from each school. The group included American’s Isobel Araujo, Army West Point’s Lisa Junta, Boston University’s Kerri Graber, Tessa Runels and Catherine Yu, Bucknell’s Nora Adams, Emma Cousins, Alexa DiGregorio, Alison Lockwood, Victoria Mold and Kristin Sundy, Colgate’s Emily Hanrahan and Kori Strother, Holy Cross’ Michelle McGahan and Hannah Jeter, Lafayette’s Stephanie McCartney and Colleen McGovern, Lehigh’s Anne Birkenmaier, Natalie Bates, Shannon Wright and Rachel Okun, Loyola’s Sara Gilson, Kelly Hilbert and Claire Scavone and Navy’s Tahler Bandarra, Isabel Krause, Emily Jensen and Morgan O’Connor.

Senior student-athletes who earned a fourth Academic Honor Roll nod included Army West Point’s Katrina Mecklenburg and Elizabeth Moton, Bucknell’s Mold and Sundy, Holy Cross’ McGahan, Sarah Dalhstrom, Cailee Dean and Alexandra Parise, Lafayette’s Rachel Douglas, Claire Murphy and Grace Watters, Lehigh’s Bates, Babette Hohrath, Jonelle Jerwick, Victoria Mullane and Elizabeth Sinclair and Navy’s Jensen, Sarah Bernhardt, Shannon Cuthbert, and Madeline Zell.

To be eligible for the Patriot League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
