SAN BRUNO, Calif.-Pepperdine University senior Lorraine Guillermo has been named the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week, while San Diego doubles teammates junior Dana Oppinger and freshman Drew Spinosa earn the doubles weekly honor in the sport of women’s tennis, the league announced Tuesday.

Last week, Guillermo and eighteenth-ranked Pepperdine played NCAA Championship-winning UCLA last week’s lone dual match in Malibu, where the waves stumbled 4-3 in the outcome. Guillermo delivered impressive performances in both singles and doubles, as she first paired with sophomore Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai in doubles, and went up against No. 2 Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips. The Waves’ No. 1 duo was serving for the match, up 5-3, when the doubles point had been clinched and action was suspended. Guillermo out played No. 3 Robin Anderson to a 6-4, 6-3 outcome. The Walnut, Calif., native earns her second weekly nod of the season.

Oppinger and Spinosa collected their first career league honor in doubles play. The pair currently sports an undefeated record for the 2015 dual season at 4-0. Playing at the No. 1 spot, the teammates defeated San José State’s Gaelle Rey and Marie Klocker 6-2 last week. For the season, the teammates own a 6-1 mark as partners.
