Roach Garners League Accolade

Dec. 28, 2015

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– The Patriot League announced on Monday that Navy women’s basketball player Bianca Roach (Fr., Virginia Beach, Va.) has been selected as this week’s league rookie (freshman) of the week for her sport. This is the first weekly nod of her young career.

Roach garnered the accolade for her performance during Navy’s 64-46 victory over Air Force on Dec. 21. She scored 10 points against the Falcons on 4-6 shooting from the floor to go along with a 2-4 effort from the foul line. The 10 points marked the second time in which she reached double figures in a game this year and left her two points shy of tying her season high which came in a double overtime contest against Elon.

Roach also tallied three assists, three steals and two rebounds in her 23 minutes of playing time.

Navy will open its Patriot League season Wednesday night when the Midshipmen play host to Bucknell in a 7 p.m. game at Alumni Hall.
