Two Terriers Earn PL Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. Christy Wood and Lovie Burleson of the women’s track & field team each earned Patriot League weekly honors, the conference announced on Monday.

Wood had four ECAC-qualifying times at the Tiger Track Classic, hitting marks individually in the 200-meter (24.25) and 400-meter (54.65) and as part of BU’s relay squads in both the 4 X 100m (46.95) and 4 X 400m (3:42.16). She placed in the top 10 in each of the four races, with her time in the 400m standing in the top 60 of the NCAA East Region.

Burleson took seventh place in both the triple jump (12.19 meters) and long jump (5.80 meters) over the weekend. Both marks surpassed the ECAC qualifying standard, with the triple jump mark placing in the top 50 of the NCAA East Region.

The women’s track & field team will be back in action again on April 16 when they compete at both Dartmouth and Brown.
