UC Santa Barbara beats Cal Poly 69-50

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) Gabe Vincent and John Green scored 14 points apiece as UC Santa Barbara won its eighth straight, beating Cal Poly 69-50 on Saturday night in the regular season finale for both teams.

Green also led with 10 rebounds. Michael Bryson and Mitch Brewe had nine points apiece for the Gauchos (17-12, 11-5 Big West) who head to the conference tournament on March 10.

UCSB led 29-26 at the break and Vincent hit a 3-pointer to stretch the Gauchos lead to 40-27 with 15:55 to play in the second half. Cal Poly closed it to 53-48 on a 3-pointer by Taylor Sutlive with 5:23 remaining, but the Mustangs (10-19, 4-12) fell back after that as UCSB finished the game on a 16-2 run and cruised to the win.

David Nwaba scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Cal Poly.
