UNLV’s Menzies adds Mooring to first recruiting class

LAS VEGAS (AP) UNLV coach Marvin Menzies has added another player to his first recruiting class, signing JUCO player Jovan Mooring.

His signing was announced by the school Wednesday.

A 6-foot-2 guard from Country Club Hills, Illinois, Mooring averaged 26.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3 steals for South Suburban College as a sophomore.

He was named the NJCAA Division II basketball player of the year and earned MVP honors in the national tournament.
