W. Soccer. Army and Lehigh student-athletes recognized on Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Student-athletes from Army and Lehigh were named to Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Soccer First Team on Thursday. Selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performance in competition and in the classroom.

Katie Holder, a junior forward for Army, was one of 11 student-athletes named to the District 1 first team which comprises NCAA Division I institutions in the Northeast. A Stillwater, Mich., native, Holder leads the Black Knights with six goals — including three game-winners. The Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.702 grade point average has been a starter in all 17 matches this season.

Paige Elliott, A junior defender for Lehigh, was among the 14 student-athletes representing the District 2 second team which is made up of NCAA Division I institutions in the Mid Atlantic. An Apison, Tenn., native, Elliott has been a key player on the Mountain Hawks defensive unit that has allowed 15 goals through 15 games this season. Elliott owns a stellar 3.99 cumulative GPA as a Chemical Engineering major.

The Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes who are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
