Box Score

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – – Navy’s women’s soccer team scored a pair of goals in the first half en route to defeating Army, 3-0, in the annual “Star” match Friday evening at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in the regular-season finale.

The loss snapped Army’s five-match Patriot League unbeaten string as the Black Knights (7-8-3) closed out conference play with a 4-2-3 mark. The Midshipmen moved to 11-3-5 overall and 6-1-2 in the league.

Army held a slim 5-4 corner kick advantage, but the Midshipmen led 23-5 in shots. Army keeper Jordan Cassalia finished with eight saves, to include denying Navy’s Morgan Dankanich on a penalty kick early in the second half.

It is the second time this season that Cassalia, who has ranked among the national leaders in saves, has denied a team on a PK.
