BOSTON – Juniors Cordelia McGinn, Claire Scavone, Sarah Askine and freshman MaryEllen Woods broke the Loyola University Maryland women’s track distance medley relay record on Sunday at the ECAC Championships hosted by Boston University.

After qualifying at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, the Greyhounds went on to finish 15th and out-pace Patriot League foes Navy and Bucknell, with a new-program record time of 11:58.13.

“I’m very happy for these girls,” head coach Amy Horst said. “Ultimately, the goal was to break the school record, and they did that in a very competitive environment.”

Emily Doucette, Kristina Krupa, Jackie D’Antonio and Alyssa Doyle held Loyola’s previous DMR record of 11:59.68, which was also set at the ECAC Championships in 2011.
