Women’s Track Places 15 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Army West Point women’s track & field team placed 15 individuals on the Patriot League Academic Honor roll, as announced by the conference Friday morning. 

Newly commissioned 2Lt. Lisa Junta led the way for the Black Knights with an impressive grade point average of 4.150. She repressed the track & field team at graduation when she graduated as the salutatorian, receiving her diploma from Gen. Martin Dempsey. 

In addition to Junta, three seniors were also named to the list with Rachel King, Katrina Mecklenburg and Elizabeth Moton earning the distinction. 

King posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.381 as an Arabic and Spanish major; Mecklenberg, who also served as team captain, earned a grade point average of 3.560 as a systems engineering major; and Moton, a chemical engineering major, earned a grade point average of 3.597. 

Three juniors made the list with Lindsay Gabow, Justine Rennekamp and Morgan Rennekamp all making the cut. 

Gabow, an international history and comparative politics major, earned a grade point average of 3.824; Justine Rennekamp posted a grade point average of 3.485 as a art, philosophy and literature major; and sister, Morgan Rennekamp earned a grade point average of 3.655, majoring in psychology. 

Sophomores Savannah Baker, Nicole Cater and Kelsey Pittman represented the class of 2017 on the Patriot League’s list. 

Baker, a mechanical engineering major, boasted a grade point average of 3.300; Cater, majoring in Arabic and French, earned a grade point average of 3.522; and Pittman posted a mark of 3.294 as a civil engineering major. 

Rounding out the list for Army West Point were freshmen Natalie Dent, Courtney Dooley, Stephanie McDermott, Cali Palumbo and Abby Vorhaus

All undeclared majors, Dent earned a grade point average of 3.295, Dooley a mark of 3.453, McDermott posted a 3.794, Palumbo earned a 3.426 and Vorhaus recorded a 3.855.
