ULM vs. Texas State Prediction, Game Preview

For the true college football fan, and those in the investment community, it’s a ULM (1-9) team without a head coach – defensive line coach John Mumford is taking over for fired head man Todd Berry – against a disappointing Texas State (2-7) squad on a three game losing streak and out of the bowl hunt after getting blown out at home by Georgia State. Check out the ULM vs. Texas State prediction and game preview.

Why ULM Will Win

The Texas State defense has completely gone into the tank. The biggest disappointment of the TXST season, the D hasn’t stopped anyone from throwing and has been every bit as lousy against the run. The Bobcats are giving up 560 yards per game giving up big yards and getting blown away by double digits at home to bad New Mexico State and Georgia State teams. ULM isn’t doing anything right, but it can throw a little bit.

Why Texas State Will Win

It should work. Texas State has the great ground game, and it has enough of an offense to move the chains, control the clock, and keep the struggling defense off the field, but the Bobcats are miserable in terms of time of possession. The ULM run defense has been better over the last few weeks, but it’s still hardly a rock. The Bobcats should be able to crank up 300 rushing yards without much of a problem.

What’s Going To Happen?

Texas State will rise up in its final home game of the year. ULM will get out fast and on the way to its trip to Hawaii next week.
