Oklahoma: 4 Undefeated Seasons

Oklahoma starts off the list of most undefeated seasons with four. The Sooners achieved their first undefeated season back in 1955 with an 11-0 record.
They then came back the next year and repeated as undefeated champs in 1956. The legendary Barry Switzer achieved the school’s 3rd undefeated season eighteen years later in 1974.
Oklahoma’s last championship win and undefeated season took place in the year 2000.
Ohio State: 4 Undefeated Seasons

Ohio State is tied with Oklahoma on the list of most undefeated seasons in college football history. However, the Buckeyes are the reigning champs, so they get the nod ahead of OU.
The legendary Woody Hayes was first to lead the Buckeyes to perfection three times in 1954, 1961, and 1968. Woody’s squad also dominated the OSU vs. Michigan rivalry during his tenure as head coach.
Jim Tressel was the last OSU coach to go undefeated back in 2002.
Nebraska: 5 Undefeated Seasons

Nebraska is currently tied with Alabama on the list of most undefeated seasons in college football history with five seasons. Out of the Cornhuskers’ five undefeated seasons, they achieved them in a very special way.
They are the only CFB school in history to go undefeated in back-to-back years twice. The team nearly 4-peated as champs during the 1990#, but came up short in 1996.
However, five undefeated seasons is an incredible feat for this constantly top-ranked school.
Alabama: 5 Undefeated Seasons

Of course, the legendary Alabama Crimson Tide would be on the list of most undefeated seasons in college football history. They’re known for achieving greatness and have done it on five occasions.
The legendary Bear Bryant had two perfect seasons during his tenure in 1961 and 1979. Gene Stallings achieved the next perfect season in 1992.
Then the legendary Nick Saban tied Bryant’s record with two undefeated seasons in 2009 and 2020.
The Crimson Tide are also second on the all-time championship list with 18 claimed national titles.
Notre Dame: 6 Undefeated Seasons

ND earned their first three undefeated seasons during the 1940s(1946, 1947, 1948). Their next three undefeated seasons occurred sporadically throughout the decades.
The Fighting Irish took their fourth in 1966, fifth in 1973, and sixth in 1988. Notre Dame also nearly won their 12th national title this year.
