Alabama stayed perfect on the season with a 51-3 rout of Mississippi State on Saturday. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had a big day, combining for 447 yards of total offense and five touchdowns as he made a case for why he belongs at the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Chattanooga dropped only its second game of the season, a 36-28 defeat to Wofford on Saturday. Quarterback Alejandro Bennifield threw for four touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.
What To Know About Alabama
The Crimson Tide can beat you in so many ways it is almost unfair. Hurts has had an amazing freshman season, defeating defenses with both his arm and legs, accounting for 27 total touchdowns. Expect offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin to keep the game plan simple, but get Hurts some more experience throwing the ball.
The defense has been dominant this season, with Jonathan Allen, Tim Williams, and company putting pressure on the opposition at all times. The Crimson Tide is second in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 12.2 points per game.
What to Know About Chattanooga
Bennifield is the leader of the Mocs offense, throwing for 2,067 yards and 23 touchdowns so far this season. He will find it tough sledding going up against one of, if not the, best defenses in the nation. Getting some help from running back Derrick Craine and the rushing attack would help keep the Crimson Tide from blitzing every down.
The defense will try to stop Hurts, but that isn’t what I want to talk about. I have a major beef with Chattanooga only because of what I call “false advertising” by Lookout Mountain. The site says that you can see seven states from the top of the mountain. I call shenanigans on this. This bothered me every time I was driving on I-75 and saw the billboards. Go on Yelp and complain for me, please. Thanks.
Offense: Alabama. Hurts is a true freshman. Let that sink in.
Defense: Alabama. How many of the 11 starters will we see on Sundays? Probably all of them.
Special Teams: Alabama. JK Scott is 2nd in the nation, averaging 48.39 yards per punt.
Coaching: Alabama. Saban is going for his sixth national title, and the Crimson Tide are looking like favorites to win it.
Intangibles: Alabama. Stay with The Process.

Let’s be real here: if the starters are still playing in the second half, something has gone terribly wrong for Alabama. Expect the Crimson Tide to put this one away early as they prepare to defend their national title with the big games coming up on the schedule. Alabama rolls.
