Four-star cornerback Alex Perry committed to Arizona State on Tuesday, giving the Sun Devils nine total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
That phrase holds a little bit more meaning right now for Todd Graham and the rest of his Sun Devils staff.
On Tuesday, 4-star prospect Alex Perry committed to Arizona State, giving the Sun Devils their ninth commit in the 2017 recruiting cycle.
Perry, the No. 15 cornerback and No. 139 overall player in the country, released a brief statement regarding his decision to pledge to Arizona State.
“[I’m] proud to say that I’m committed to Arizona State University.”
The Sun Devils now move up from No. 69 to No. 65 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings, jumping over Purdue, Boston College, Vanderbilt and Kansas State in the process.
At 5-foot-10, 170 lbs Perry, who attends Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, brings a lock-down mentality to the Sun Devils. He’s elusive and fluid in his backpedal, and can stop and change direction on a dime. Perry plays the position instinctually and can anticipate where a quarterback is going with the football quite easily.
Perry is the second defensive back Arizona State has committed in its class. He joins 3-star prospect Ty Thomas, who ranks as the nation’s No. 63 safety. The only other defensive commit in the class is 3-star recruit Loren Mondy, the No. 58 outside linebacker in the country.
He chose the Sun Devils while holding additional offers from Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah and others.
