The men’s basketball Week 2 AP Poll has been released. Duke and Kentucky remain on top, but the remaining Top 10 has seen some changes.

The AP has released its Top 25 poll for Week 2 of the college basketball season. After an exhilarating opening weekend that saw four powerhouse programs battle in the Armed Forces Classic, some noticeable changes have been made to this week’s rankings.

Not surprisingly, Duke and Kentucky remain atop the rankings after two dominating performances apiece to start off the season. Kansas, who was previously ranked No. 3, fell to the No. 7 slot after losing a 103-99 thriller to Indiana. The Hoosiers have bumped up to No. 6.

Villanova, Oregon and North Carolina all moved up a spot from last week’s poll as a result of Kansas’ loss.

After escaping with a 65-63 victory over Michigan State in the other Armer Forces Classic matchup, Arizona has stayed put at No. 10. The Spartans, meanwhile, only fell from No. 12 to No. 13 – a fair assessment for a game that saw six second-half lead changes.

The Xavier Musketeers have dropped from No. 7 to No. 11 after nearly losing their exhibition game to Lehigh. Chris Mack’s squad narrowly escaped the Mountain Hawks by a mere three points.

UConn, previously ranked No. 18, has dropped from the rankings entirely after suffering a 67-58 exhibition loss to the Wagner Seahawks. Maryland was also omitted from this week’s poll after a disappointing showing and thin victory over the American Eagles. Their spots have been replaced at the No. 24 and 25 slots by the Cincinnati Bearcats and Cal Golden Bears.
