Aubrey Solomon named the Alabama Crimson Tide his leader, however he’s still considering a handful of other schools in his recruitment.

There’s a team in the lead for 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon.

“It’s Bama,” Solomon said during an interview with SEC Recruiting Buzz of vsporto on Wednesday. “I just like what they’re doing on defense, I like the swagger they have about themselves right now, nobody can dethrone them right now.

“It’s just the best place to be right now.”

A former Michigan commit, Solomon reopened his recruitment in August, just over two months following his commitment, after the program confused him for another recruit. He still has the Wolverines in consideration, having walked away impressed from his official visit on November 5, but a recent video on social media, where Solomon was critical of the Wolverines, would say otherwise.

“What do I really want to do, do I want to win championships or be the runner up,” Solomon asked himself following his official visit to Tuscaloosa. That’s when he says Alabama being his top school hit him.

“I would describe it as a huge lead,” Solomon said in regards to where the Crimson Tide stand verse Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Michigan and USC.

While Alabama is currently the frontrunner, the other schools still have a shot according to the nation’s No. 2 defensive tackle. Solomon will use his remaining three official visits to check out Auburn, Florida and USC in January.

In addition to competing for championships, Solomon is taking the quality of the college education provided as a very important aspect in his decision.
