Auburn vs. Alabama prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen between the Tigers and Crimson Tide.

Jeff Bartl

That Kam Pettway is playing is good news for Auburn. The bad news is that he’ll be out there against an Alabama defense that’s going to bottle him up. I’d love to see the Tigers win and cause chaos among the CFP committee, but the Crimson Tide are going to win this, crush Florida, and be the No. 1 seed in the Playoff once again.

Jonathan Bass

If Auburn was completely healthy this would be a game. Alas, the quarterback who can actually throw the ball, and the best running back on the roster are both dinged up. Alabama continues its march toward another title by easily downing its rival.

Dave Miller

Just a few weeks ago, it looked like the Iron Bowl would have College Football Playoff implications for both squads. But a lot can change over the course of a couple weeks in this sport. Still, it’s the Iron Bowl, and we know that sometimes records can indeed be thrown out the window in a rivalry game—not to dismiss the Tigers’ solid 7-3 mark.

The game will be in Tuscaloosa, but I still want to see how Jalen Hurts handles the pressure of his first Iron Bowl. The Tigers should keep things close after two quarters of play, and should quarterback Sean White and running back Kam Pettway play, it should be a fairly competitive contest. Still, Hurts beats this really good Auburn defense with his legs on a few broken plays to help the Tide pull away with a win and continue their march toward yet another College Football Playoff berth.

Brian Stultz

Full disclosure if you aren’t already aware: I’m an Auburn alumnus and this is the one day of the year where it is not smart to mess with my psyche. Still, as a journalist, I remain completely objective and know that Alabama will definitely win this game, especially with Tigers quarterback Sean White not 100% healthy. The Auburn defense will keep it close for a while, but ultimately, they will wear out as the offense can’t keep the chains moving. Alabama pulls away in the second half. Dave Miller will text me “There Goes Davis!!!” a thousand times to try and make me feel better.
