Five-star outside linebacker Baron Browning has confirmed he’ll take an official visit to Alabama on Oct. 21.
Alabama is riding a six-game winning streak this season and is sporting the No. 2-ranked recruiting class in the 2017 cycle. Life is pretty solid for the Crimson Tide.
Now 5-star recruit Baron Browning is planning on seeing just how great life in Tuscaloosa can be. The nation’s No. 2 outside linebacker and No. 25 overall player confirmed to Bleacher Report that he’s planning on taking an official visit to Alabama on Oct. 21 — the same weekend when the Tide host Texas A&M.
Alabama currently has 21 commits, and four of them are 5-star recruits. It landed 5-star prospect Dylan Moses, the No. 1 outside linebacker, just over a week ago. And it already had commitments from 5-star outside linebacker VanDarius Cowan, 4-star inside linebacker Markail Benton and 4-star JUCO inside linebacker Gary Johnson.
Tacking on a commitment from Browning would be another case of the rich getting richer. To be fair, a commitment to the Tide isn’t imminent. Browning simply wants to introduce his family to Saban and the other coaches.
“This will give my family a chance to meet with the staff and see the school,” Browning said. “I want my parents to meet Coach Saban and get a feel for the rest of the staff.”
He already took an official visit to Michigan on the weekend of Sept. 30 to see the Wolverines beat Wisconsin, 14-7. He’s also scheduled to visit Florida State the week after he visits Alabama to watch the Seminoles host Clemson. UCLA will get a visit on Nov. 18 when it hosts USC, and Browning will see Ohio State on Nov. 26 when it takes on Michigan in Columbus.
The Kennedale, Texas native is scheduled to announce his decision on Nov. 29.
