Big 12 Football Standings – Week 9

<iframe src="" width="640" height="360" style="border:0"></iframe>

Big 12 football standings for Week 9 of the season. Three teams are perfect in conference play – Baylor, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

After a 1-2 start, the Oklahoma Sooners have really turned things around and are in sole possession of the lead in the Big 12 football standings. The Sooners are 4-0 in conference play with wins over TCU, Texas, Kansas State and Texas Tech. Next up are the lowly Kansas Jayhawks, who have yet to secure a Big 12 win this season.

Baylor and West Virginia are also undefeated in conference play, and also on the season. Both carry 3-0 Big 12 records. The Bears, Mountaineers and Sooners all still have to play one another.

If the conference hopes to earn a College Football Playoff berth, it’ll likely need either Baylor or West Virginia to escape unscathed. The Sooners have essentially been eliminated with their two losses – especially now that the Houston defeat looks even worse – and it’s hard to imagine a scenario where a 1-loss Bears or Mountaineers team gets in.

Kansas State, Oklahoma State and TCU have identical records at 2-2 in conference and 4-3 overall.

The bottom of the Big 12 standings are composed of the aforementioned Jayhawks, the 0-4 Iowa State Cyclones, and Texas and Texas Tech, who are each 1-3 in conference and 3-4 overall.
