Four-star outside linebacker Breon Dixon committed to Ole Miss on Sunday, giving the Rebels 14 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.

Four years ago, Hugh Freeze’s team tapped into the Peach State and into Grayson High School when Robert Nkemdiche chose the Rebels.

On Sunday, at the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game, Freeze’s staff got it done again. Four-star prospect Breon Dixon committed to Ole Miss over Louisville despite the Cardinals having gotten Dixon’s last official visit on Dec. 11 before the recruiting dead period set in.

Dixon, who is ranked as the No. 27 outside linebacker in the country and the No. 5 outside linebacker in the state of Georgia, is now the 14th total commit for the Rebels.

His decision added 194 recruiting points to Ole Miss’ total, raising it to 1,435 points. The Rebels now move up from No. 54 to No. 46 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings.

At 6-foot, 218 lbs Dixon brings a natural playmaking ability to the outside linebacker position for Ole Miss. He’s built to blitz and will cause fits for opposing quarterbacks in the pocket.

The Loganville, Georgia prospect is athletic. He’s aggressive. He’s not a liability when dropping back into coverage. But most importantly, when Dixon hits, he knocks the wind out of ball carriers.

The Rebels now have three outside linebackers in the class. In addition to Dixon, they have commitments from 3-star recruits Brenden Williams and Josh Clarke.

Dixon is also the second-highest-ranked commit for Ole Miss in the 2017 class behind only 4-star wide receiver D.D. Bowie.
