Three-star safety Bryson Richardson committed to Tennessee on Saturday.

As far as their game against Alabama was concerned, the Volunteers’ Saturday could have gone much better. They fell to the Crimson Tide in Neyland Stadium, 49-10.

However, their 2018 recruiting class did pick up its third commit.

Three-star safety Bryson Richardson committed to Tennessee over Louisville, NC State, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and West Virginia. He took an unofficial visit to Knoxville this past weekend to watch the Vols take on Alabama. It was his second visit to Tennessee in less than a month.

The Buford, Georgia native released a statement regarding his decision.

“It has been a great day for me. Ever since I was 6 years old, I dreamt of playing football. All the hard work and dedication I put in to get to this point has been worth it. I’ve had so much help and support from many people. I’m looking forward to chasing my dreams and continuing to get better in every aspect of this game and my life. I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have gotten me to this point. I would like to announce that I will continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee.”

Richardson joins 5-star offensive tackle Cade Mays, a Knoxville native, and 4-star athlete Alontae Taylor in the class.

At 6-foot, 185 lbs the 3-star safety tracks the ball well and flies to the ball after diagnosing the run. He makes plays on the ball in the air and can lay the wood at times. Most importantly, he attacks the ball even after the catch his been made.
