Clemson vs. Wake Forest Prediction Roundtable – What’s Going To Happen

Clemson vs. Wake Forest prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen during Saturday’s game between the Tigers and Demon Deacons.

Jeff Bartl

Wake Forest hasn’t beaten Clemson since 2008. That’s not going to change this year. I’ve been saying since opening week that the Tigers were going to lose a game and it finally happened, but they’re not going to lose two straight. Clemson beats the Demon Deacons for the eighth straight time.

Robert Judin

Clemson isn’t going to lose twice in a row. It’s not happening. I’ve openly admitted I thought the Tigers were lacking compared to the team they had last season, but they’re not going to lose to Wake Forest. And the Demon Deacons aren’t a complete pushover, mind you. It’s just that Deshaun Watson isn’t going to let Clemson lose again in the regular season. Wayne Gallman and Mike Williams will both come up big, and the Tigers win by double digits.

Dave Miller

In last year’s meeting between these two teams, Wake Forest quarterbacks managed just 113 yards through the air with a touchdown and an interception. Demon Deacons signal-caller John Wolford has just two games of 200 passing yards or more and has thrown just five touchdowns against seven interceptions this year. So it’s an anemic passing attack. Wake was held to just 37 yards after halftime against Louisville last week, and it’s safe to say that Wolford needs to play the best game of his career against Clemson. Meanwhile, the Tigers are looking to bounce back from their disappointing loss to Pitt last week. Look for Dabo Swinney’s crew to put together one of its finest performances of the season and remain very much in the College Football Playoff mix. Wake simply lacks any serious offensive firepower to hang with Swinney’s squad.

Brian Stultz

Clemson fans wouldn’t leave me alone last week after I made some comments on Dabo and the fact that the Tigers would end up losing a game. Sorry. I was obviously wrong. Clemson would never let a team like Pitt come into Death Valley and run all over them, right? My apologies.

Clemson bounces back.
