A college football news roundup that includes FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher saying he was hard to deal with this spring and a politician trying to oust a coach.

I have expressed my love for the Waffle House more than once, but now we might have a problem. I am staying in a hotel with one right across the street, so there is an excellent chance that I have five or six meals there in the next 48 hours. I miss it so much.

In college football news, we compare the chips and salsa at Chili’s to SEC football, take a look at what we learned from Texas A&M’s spring practice, and detail why new Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm is not shying away from a challenge. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Fisher Fired Up – Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher wasn’t concerned with making friends during spring practice, as he turned up the heat on the Seminoles.

“I was hell this spring,” Fisher said. “I was never happy. I was pushing, because if you don’t now, you have to get across what you’re trying to sell right now. The parity of this game is too great, who can mentally and physically handle the mental strains and toughness are the guy that persevere and come out on top.”

Political Power – Sometimes politics and sports come together, and usually, that is not a good thing. That seems to be the case in West Virginia, as, according to sources, Governor Jim Justice was involved in trying to get Marshall to fire head coach Doc Holliday and put former head coach Bobby Pruett back in charge.

Hello, Son! – You might not know the name Thaddeus Moss, but you definitely remember his father, Randy Moss.

While it seems hard to imagine, the young Moss was a college player at NC State this past season and has now decided to transfer.

“I will be transferring from NC State after the spring semester in hopes to better my opportunities for the future. I have nothing but love for Coach Doeren and his program and I also would like to thank WPN [Wolfpack Nation].”
