A college football news roundup that includes Texas running back D’Onta Foreman deciding to go pro and USC quarterback Max Browne transferring.

Happy December! We have made it to the last month of this crazy year, so congratulations on that. 2016 has been the equivalent of that crazy uncle that spends all his time in the garage. The one whom you never know exactly if he is building something or if he is just in there drinking whiskey all day. The only thing you are certain of is that something horrible is going on, and then one day he comes out on fire but is too drunk to realize it. Yeah, it has been a strange year.

In college football, Florida’s Jim McElwain said he hasn’t been contacted about the Oregon job while the Ducks have begun to target South Florida’s Willie Taggart. Elsewhere, Houston and Les Miles are showing mutual interest in each other over the head coaching position. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Foreman Going Pro – After a season in which he rushed for 2,028 and 15 touchdowns, Texas running back D’Onta Foreman has decided to forego his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL Draft. Foreman was one of the few bright spots for the Longhorns in a season that ended with a 5-7 record and the dismissal of head coach Charlie Strong.

Leaving Los Angeles – It wasn’t supposed to end like this for Max Browne as a USC Trojan. The former five-star recruit has spent four seasons with the Men of Troy, and only has 650 passing yards and two touchdowns to show for it. He announced on Wednesday that he will be transferring from the Trojans program, but first reflected on his time at USC with a heartfelt Instagram message.

Sure, He’s Staying – With Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre’s name being thrown around for other positions, his athletic director Rick George is confident that the coach will remain in Boulder.

“Look, Mike has had a great year, and it’s not just Mike. It’s he and his coaching staff,” George said. “They’ve done a great job, and you would expect his name to pop up in a lot of different areas because of the success he’s had, and I think that’s a great compliment to what they’ve done. Beyond that, Mike and I will talk, like we always do, after the regular season is over, which ends Friday night.”
