College Football News Roundup – November 16

<iframe src="" width="640" height="360" style="border:0"></iframe>

A college football roundup that includes Oklahoma defensive lineman Charles Walker leaving team and FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher stating he is committed to the Seminoles.

The United State Men’s National Team is a disaster right now after a 4-0 loss to Costa Rica (yes, Costa Rica) in World Cup qualifying last night. Coach Jurgen Klinsmann is on his last days as the head of the team, but I have no idea who they bring in to repair this. An Englishman? That would be devastating. Anyway, I didn’t want to go to Russia in 2020 anyway.

In college football, the latest College Football Playoff rankings are out and we have some reactions, Alabama gets stronger with another big commitment, and take a look at who we have ranked as the top 10 coaches heading into Week 12. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Player Leaves Norman, Coach Gripes About Player – Oklahoma defensive lineman Charles Walker has decided to leave the Sooners team to start preparing for the NFL Draft. Since suffering a concussion on October 1 against TCU, Walker has not played.

Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops had a few words to say about his former player.

“Quitting on your teammates is hard to take as a coach,” Stoops said.

Loyal To Tallahassee – With his name being thrown around as the top guy that LSU is looking to hire as head coach, FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher made it clear that he is staying with the Seminoles.

“I love being at Florida State. I plan on being here and I’m just getting ready for Syracuse. That’s the last thing I’m going to say on that. I love being here.”

Davis With Strong Words – In his introductory press conference as the head coach at FIU, Butch Davis said he is not there just to collect a paycheck and win a few games.

Pointing at teams such as Boise State and UCF, Davis said, “If they can get into Jan. 1 bowl games, why not us? Why not us?”

I have a feeling the “Why Not Us?” t-shirts are already being printed down in Miami-Dade.
