A college football news roundup that includes Notre Dame being forced to vacate wins and a key Ohio State player returning for the matchup against Michigan.

I’m staying in town for Thanksgiving and avoiding the craziness that is traveling during the latter part of this week. I’ve never had good luck when flying during this time of year, so I’m going to relax and take it easy as millions are stressing at airports all across the country. Call it life experience.

In college football, Auburn’s leading rusher Kam Pettway will be back for the Iron Bowl, the newest College Football Playoff rankings were released, and Ohio State dropped a hype video to end all hype videos heading into the Michigan game. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Some Rust On That Gold – Notre Dame has been forced to vacate wins from the 2012-13 seasons after being charged for academic misconduct, as a former athletic trainer violated the NCAA ethical conduct rules by providing impermissible benefits.

Buckeye Available – Ohio State is getting at least one of its receivers back just in time for the rivalry game against Michigan as Dontre Wilson should be ready for Saturday’s game after missing last week’s matchup against Michigan State.

“Dontre is cleared to play,” head coach Urban Meyer said Tuesday.

Wilson has caught 26 passes for 343 yards and five touchdowns so far this season.

Meyer is also hopeful wide receiver Corey Smith will return for Saturday’s game.

Staying In-State? – With the head coaching position open in Waco, many names have been tossed around on who will become the next leader of the Baylor football program. The latest is SMU head coach Chad Morris. It makes sense, considering Morris is a Texas native who has spent time coaching at both the high school and collegiate level in the Lone Star State. The 47-year-old Morris took the Mustangs job prior to the 2015 season after serving as the offensive coordinator at Clemson from 2011-14.
