A college football news roundup that includes Oklahoma getting back its two running backs for this Saturday’s matchup against Baylor and a Florida State receiver will miss the rest of the season.

I have given up on Uber making the needed corrections to its GPS system in downtown Chicago, so I’m now using the CURB app, which tells taxis that you are waiting for one at a certain location. It is a couple dollars more, but well worth having the driver know exactly where to pick you up and how to get around Chicago. It makes my commute much better. Only two and a half more weeks until I get the walking boot off.

In college football, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is frustrated with the length of games, Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio is out for the South Carolina game, and we discuss who the best (and worst) two-loss teams are right now. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Good News For Sooners – Both Oklahoma running backs Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon will be back and on the field for the Sooners’ game against Baylor this Saturday. Perine has missed the last three games with a right leg injury while Mixon was suspended for the Thursday night game against Iowa State for violation of team rules that involved ripping up a parking ticket and throwing it on the ground in front of a police officer.

Tough Break For Huskies – Washington is having an outstanding year, so far undefeated and ranked No. 5 in the nation. The Huskies will now be without their best pass rusher and leader in sacks Joe Mathis for the rest of the season, as he will undergo surgery for a foot injury that has caused him to miss the past three games.

Another Player Out – Florida State’s wide receiver corps also took a hit due to a foot injury as Jesus “Bobo” Wilson will miss the rest of the season, his final in college football, after undergoing surgery on his foot on Monday. Wilson had missed the last two games for the Seminoles, and he was second on the team with 30 catches and 390 yards.
