College football recruiting rankings update as of Jan. 1, 2017, following the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game.

At the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game, there were five recruits who announced their commitments, and it certainly affected the recruiting class rankings.

After Florida State landed Cam Akers to climb past the Terrapins, Maryland added a pledge from 4-star safety Markquese Bell and remains at No. 12.

Of course, the top spot still belongs to Alabama. The Crimson Tide landed a surprise commitment from 4-star safety Xavier McKinney. It was believed McKinney, who had decommitted from Alabama earlier in the year, was on his way to Clemson. However, he chose to re-join the Tide.

Nick Saban’s former defensive coordinator, Kirby Smart, managed to win a recruiting battle against his former team. Georgia beat out Alabama for 5-star athlete DeAngelo Gibbs, who will stay close to home to play for the Bulldogs. UGA didn’t move in the rankings with Gibbs’ pledge, but it did manage to slide past Michigan up to No. 2 when it landed 4-star athlete Tray Bishop hours later.

Elsewhere in the SEC, Ole Miss landed 4-star outside linebacker Breon Dixon over Louisville, and the Rebels moved up from No. 54 to No. 46. Plus, 4-star outside linebacker Nathan Proctor liked what he saw from Virginia Tech, as he committed to the Hokies and bumped them up to No. 33.

Below are the current top 25 teams for the college football recruiting rankings.
