College football recruiting rankings update as of April 17, 2017. The Miami Hurricanes extended their lead as the No. 1 class, but the Ohio State Buckeyes took a huge leap forward as well.

The Miami Hurricanes were already in the driver’s seat when it came to the 2018 recruiting class, and Mark Richt’s staff extended its lead on Sunday night.

Fresh off a visit to Ann Arbor for Michigan’s spring game, 4-star tight end Brevin Jordan committed to Miami. The Wolverines were among a list of other programs chasing Jordan that included Oregon, UCLA and USC, among others.

Even though they missed out on Jordan, Jim Mora’s Bruins still found a way to sneak into the top 25 when 4-star safety Cam’ron Jones committed to UCLA.

However, neither the ‘Canes nor the Bruins were the biggest winners of the weekend. That honor belongs to Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes, who picked up a slew of commitments in the past few days.

On Friday, former Georgia commit and 4-star offensive tackle Max Wray got things started when he committed to Ohio State. The Buckeyes also added to their secondary when 4-star safety Josh Proctor gave Ohio State his commitment as well. That moved the Buckeyes up from No. 8 to No. 6 in the class rankings.

But there was more movement in the Big Ten. Mike Riley’s Cornhuskers made a huge splash when they managed to end Bookie Radley-Hiles’ recruitment early. About three months ahead of schedule, the 4-star cornerback committed to Nebraska.

After securing commitments from Radley-Hiles and 4-star wide receiver Manuel Allen, the Cornhuskers climbed their way up to No. 13 in the rankings.

Florida also climbed to No. 17 with the addition of 4-star running back Iverson Clement, and Tom Herman’s Texas Longhorns found their way into the top 25 when they landed 4-star quarterback Casey Thompson.

Below are the current top 25 teams for the college football recruiting rankings.
